Ironman 70.3 World Championships
LifeSport Athletes Going To Austria To Compete!
LifeSport Coaching has over 10 athletes heading to Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Zell Am See, Austria on Aug.29th. This is the first time the event has been held outside of North America and it’s great to see so many heading to Europe to race. LifeSport coaches work with all ages of athletes and we see the entire range of Age Groups is represented from 25 all the way to mid-60’s!
A little piece on our athletes;
Coach Lance Watson
Nell Stephenson - F40-44, won her AG at Vineman 70.3 and at Hawaii 70.3. Nell is a multiple AG winner who has come top overall in 70.3 and top 5 at Worlds in her AG. She is also the author of Paleoista, a guide to Paleo diet.
Chris Stephenson - M50-54, was 5th at Hawaii 70.3 and 4th at Vineman 70.3. He is a busy executive who fits in training around his busy international travel schedule. Chris also qualified for Hawaii Ironman World Championships in Kona by finishing 2nd at Ironman Canada this year.
Nell and Chris are a married couple.

Tatiana Vertiz - F25-29, 3-time Ironman World Champion (Kona) in 20-24 age group
Michelle Ball - F45-49, Full time Crown Prosecutor. She has previously represented Canada at Sprint, Olympic, 70.3, ITU Long Distance and Ironman World Championships.
Coach Dan Smith
Jan-Morten Ra –M35-39, from Sandnes, Norway. When Ironman announced the 2015 70.3 World Championships were going to be in Austria, he checked out the course in 2014, then qualified 5th at 70.3 Mallorca. He was also 4th at ITU World Long Distance Championships in Sweden.
Leigh-Ann Vanderlinde –F40-44 from Mission BC a past Ironman Canada finisher qualified for Worlds in St George UT.
Coach Chuck Kemeny
Jackie Pomeroy - F60-64 - Qualified at Buffalo Springs 70.3. Jackie started in the sport of triathlon in 2011 and qualified for the world championship in her 3rd attempt at the 70.3 distance.
Coaching Chris Thomas
Alain Benzaken - M55-59 Alain was able to get his slot at 70.3 Eagleman where he finished in 3rd place. Alain has worked very hard over the years and has seen significant improvements in his fitness even as he matures into his late 50s. He is thrilled to be going to his first World Championships!
Coach Jeremy Howard
Elizabeth Nyitray - F30-34 - Lizzie got her slot at 70.3 Timberman in 2014 where she placed 4th in her age group. Since then she was hit by a car in a crosswalk, last October, where her foot was run over, suffering multiple broken bones and torn ligaments. She has raced once since then, winning the Half at Challenge Atlantic City on June 28th.

Lori Morgan – F55-59 First in her age group at 70.3 Victoria. First time to 70.3 World Championships.
