He has represented Canada at two Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 and London in 2012, and boasts numerous accolades, including World Cup and Pan American Games medals.
Known for his commitment to excellence and deep knowledge of the sport, Brent offers a unique and in-depth coaching perspective to help his athletes both enjoy and achieve their triathlon goals.
Brent has been involved in coaching and mentoring throughout the last 15 years of his professional career, helping guide all levels of athletes to improved performances.
“I believe it’s imperative that an athlete learns to listen and understand their bodies in order to maximize their training and time invested in it. My philosophy revolves around helping athletes learn appropriate efforts and pacing based on this knowledge, not just numbers from a computer.
Having a carefully constructed program designed for each athlete is just part of the puzzle. Knowing how to execute this program and balance energy and time is the key to getting the most out of training. When athletes understand their own personal parameters and training feedback, they can gain confidence and continue to progress in their training.”
TESTIMONIALS
Lance Watson, IRONMAN Master Coach and Olympic Gold Medal Coach
“Brent McMahon is one of the great legends of our sport. He has experience at every aspect of triathlon, from short course to Ironman to XTERRA, and has excelled at the highest level. More important, Brent has emerged as a mentor and leader for younger athletes in our sport; indeed, at training camps he accepted the moniker of “Uncle Brent” as he became the go-to guy for up-and-coming pros who needed advice on training, racing, equipment, nutrition and life.”
Carolyn, Canada
“As a coach, Brent brings such a depth of knowledge that really, no other coach can. He himself has raced at the highest level and he translates that experience to bring my training and racing to the next level with insights, tips and techniques I would not get anywhere else. “
