Juliet grew up in New England, playing lots of different sports, finally settling on field hockey, basketball and rowing in high school. Spending more time in the boathouse than in class in college, Juliet learned a tremendous amount about teamwork and leadership and was a keen observer of her coaches’ approach to building a nationally ranked rowing powerhouse. After college Juliet started a nonprofit that recruited college athletes to coach in South Africa’s black townships; ran teaching programs across southern Africa; went to business school; married; worked with refugees on the North Korean-Chinese border; raised two sons and two dogs; enjoyed stints at Nike, Mercy Corps and Friends of the Children; moved her family 5 times across 24 times zones to support her husband’s career; served on school and non-profit boards; coached four different youth sports; learned Dutch; started a blog, a travel service and a consulting practice; built a career as a project manager; and announced the Opening Ceremonies for the 2014 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam.
In 2014, Juliet returned to competitive sports, first as a tennis player and then as a triathlete. She quickly remembered how much she loved racing and competing, both as an athlete and as a mentor and coach. In 2017, Juliet started working with LifeSport Coach and Founder, Lance Watson. Later that year, she started the BATWomen, a high-performance women’s triathlon team, in Oregon. Excited to take it one step further, Juliet earned her USAT Coaching Certification, started coaching while working with LifeSport as a partner on new business development and operations.
“I’m thrilled to be part of the LifeSport team. I understand the importance of balancing life, family and training; one of my value added offerings as a coach is helping athletes figure out how to fit workouts into their busy schedules. I believe anyone can find success in triathlon. I love leveraging my experience as a lifelong athlete at multiple levels to help newcomers to triathlon fall in love with the sport and support veterans in reaching their goals.”

“Juliet demonstrated to me that any limitations I placed on myself were unfounded…she immediately raised my game both mentally and physically. Her rapid response to calls, emails and texts makes me feel like much more than a typical age-grouper. Juliet is constantly checking in on my goals and ambitions, and we quickly align when a change of goals, plans, races, etc., dictates a change in strategy. The result is that even at the age of 52, I am still pursuing personal bests in almost every metric, and my fitness and performance have continually improved. I am proud to be her athlete.”
Danielle, California, USA
“I have seen improvements in all three disciplines and tremendous leaps in fitness through Juliet’s guidance. She helps me understand why we are doing certain workouts, what the intent is, and how it should feel. Together, we use numbers and data paired with my subjective feelings and experiences to determine what is best for me. She takes careful consideration of my schedule to piece together my training each week and her ability to understand the mind of the athlete helps me navigate the ups, downs, challenges, and joys that is sport. She is always there to cheer me on or talk things through in a non-judgmental and completely supportive manner. Juliet truly does push me to be the best athlete and person I can be.”

“I work full-time in a demanding career and have a son in grade school. Juliet was my shining light to help me set and achieve meaningful goals. Thanks to Juliet, I stayed healthy, had my best season as a local age-grouper, and she inspired me to set a goal of racing my first 70.3 by the end of that same year. This experience was pivotal to me as an athlete and as a person.”
